My daughter wants to be alone for her birthday

She's been home and working hard at school.I asked what she wanted to do special and she's requested nothing.Shes going to be 23.I want to honor her feelings but feel I should do something.We've always celebrated.

What you did sounds perfect. It can be a little sad when they get older and lose some of the excitement. I think you handled it well.
