Have you ever felt alone in grief?

Peaches · F
YES! 😭💔When my sister was killed in a car accident my ex kept yelling at me to GET OVER IT?! I also found out she was pregnant too. She had just turned 30 years old...I will NEVER get over it. One day he even pushed me down because I couldn't stop crying for her. I had no other family here to turn to. Those were some of the darkest days of my life.

Specially when I grieved the loss of my cat... Nobody seemed to understand.

And in other circumstances too
@Bushmanoz she's dead now.

@Whiterosesociety You have had a tough time, sorry to hear it
SweetMae · 70-79, F
I was alone for months after my mother died. That was very hard.
Bushmanoz · 61-69, M
@SweetMae Sorry to hear you lost your mother
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@Bushmanoz Thank you!
Magenta · F
Not for people whom have died, as I know other loved ones felt the same loss. But I most definitely did for a lost love that still lives..
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
Yes....but in some ways I welcome the solitude and isolation. I don't like sharing my pain with others.
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
Yes definitely, but I think in some parts of grief solitude is helpful. I have found that for myself.
SW-User
yes. at that moment felt that I was the only one in the world that cared...kind of devastating...
SW-User
Yes. Recently, and currently. It's no fun.
Zoranna · F
@SW-User It's awful, you have my sympathies. 😔
SW-User
@Zoranna Thank you. I appreciate that. And ditto.
I'm almost ALWAYS alone in grief.

Carissimi · F
Oh yes. It makes the loss even harder because there is no one to comfort you. I’m so sorry. 😢
Zoranna · F
@Carissimi Thank you so much. It's getting a little easier now and I do actually have extended family (sisters and a brother), we were all grieving in our own way and have comforted each other since when we could. It was sad for everyone and hard to explain but I was the closest to Mum and actually lived next door. Thank you again.

@Zoranna oh, I know he does; she was his daughter as well, so I don't push him to talk. I love him for who he is.
Zoranna · F
@SW-User I was thinking of one of my sisters when I wrote that. She's grieving in her own way I hope because she didn't turn up today.
SW-User
@Zoranna oh sweetheart can you check on her? Sometimes people need their alone time, but they also want to know we care. Hugs, Zoranna!

Yes, I took a page from my Jewish friends book. I covered the mirrors. It helped.

Bushmanoz · 61-69, M
Had no idea, I thought it was just a general question, i'm really sorry, it does get easier with a time..it never completely stops though.
SW-User
@Bushmanoz you have a very kind and empathetic heart
Bushmanoz · 61-69, M
@SW-User Thank you, it makes me a soft touch sometimes though
@SW-User So do you.
Bushmanoz · 61-69, M
Men of my era were brought up not to share, or even show it. So yeah, many times
