Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@XenonRush It's pretty good
I'm dealing with it as I read.
XenonRush · M
Are you German?

Oh I just figured since those are very popular there! Where do you hail from?
@Kwek00
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@XenonRush Belgium
it's just next to Germanny

Not sure how popular they are in Germanny. But Germanny has a big community from Turkish background because of historical reasons. We have a fairly big community too, also because of historical reasons.

Belgium is a beautiful country!
Do you speak French or Dutch as your native language?

@Kwek00
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@XenonRush I'm a native dutch speaker.

Yeah, Belgium has it's thing going... but if you want nature, I know a lot of other places to go too that are a lot more beautifull. But we have our stuff.
XenonRush · M
In Dutch, to casually ask someone “how’s it going” would you say “Hoe gat het?
Also, is the Dutch R rolled like Spanish or is it more guttural like French?

@XenonRush Good question (that last one)... I just do it without thinking, and I'm not really a linguist. So I don't really dare to answer that question.

"Hoe gaAt het?" , is a way of asking that, yes.

Are you intrested in languages? Because if you want to learn languages... then dutch isn't only difficult, it's also pretty small as a language area. I think it's better to learn german, spanish or french.
XenonRush · M
Yeah, I love languages! I would not care about language area, I do not study languages because they are more marketable or useful, I study them to learn about a culture or because I am interested in the history of a language. Dutch and German have always been my favorites to study! @Kwek00
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@XenonRush Oh, where does the fascination for the dutch and the german language comes from?
XenonRush · M
I just love the history and I have Dutch ancestry! Hey could you listen to this Dutch version of cartoon theme song and please write the lyrics down in church of what is being said? It is hard for me to catch it all! Please and dank u wel!
