Would he like them?

I bought my boyfriens pink roses. A couple days ago he was making a joke that he is the clingy one and he started saying " why dont you buy me flowers?" And so i promised him flowers. But I know he was kidding but at the same time I really wanna give him something. And I dont know. Pink roses seemed right. But I dont wanna embarras him or make him uncomfortable or something.
