What does a wheelchair bound person do if there’s a fire and they’re on an above-ground floor?

If elevators are disabled when the fire alarm sounds, and they can’t go down the stairs because they’re in a wheelchair, what do they do?

They have evacuation chairs. That can go down the stairs with assistance. I'd have one if I were in that situation and there were stairs.
Or the fd can use a gurney to bring people down stairs.
@SW-User Evacuation chairs? Where?
SW-User
@SinlessOnslaught like a wheelchair except they're made to go down stairs with wheels. You have to have someone guide the chair down.
@SW-User Interesting

@SinlessOnslaught you can find them online or some fire departments have them.
@SW-User Oh I thought you were saying that public buildings have to have hem, legally
SW-User
@SinlessOnslaught they're available for people and some buildings might have them.
