@Dan193 As one smiles, that communicates more in meaning than just words but to add to the conversation one wants to always be positive and exude confidence. One of my traits is to always find a way to compliment someone but not over the top where it comes across as fake. I like the mundane ones the best, like: I really love your new hairstyle. That sweater or color is really becoming to you. You are so funny. I have even said things like you really have beautiful hands and that has always lit someone up. The list is endless, it really is. Being “charming”, is becoming a lost art today. It truly has to be practiced every day, all day. The goal is to make everyone feel really comfortable being around you from passing someone on the sidewalk, on the bus, the cashier and others at the grocery store, your workplace, the bank, wait staff when going out, professionals, to a homeless person etc. You really have to practice. It is a skill that will open many doors for you. One has to be sincere, be themselves and really believe in what they are saying to appear authentic. Always go up and introduce yourself first. Get used to small talk to start a conversation. You will be amazed at all the reactions that you will recieve and get better at it everyday. I have often thought about writing a book on this subject. People really need this info, especially today with all the tech that is replacing human skills. Just something to think about........and practice!
