Why do people stick their noses into things that don't concern them?

My nans neighbour told me that I "should stop going to the gym to lose weight because I am going to make myself unhealthy."

I go to the gym to gain muscle.

I actually don’t mind it when it comes to safety reasons. I remember when I got into my friends car, and my neighbor called my father to tell him that I was leaving the house. I barely knew that person so I’m glad that he felt the need to be worried.

Other cases not so much!
