Would you do what Charles Ramsey did under the same type of circumstances?

Ramsey is the guy in Cleveland who put down his hamburger to go across the street to help Amanda Berry, and eventually her 2 friends, escape from his neighbor's house where they'd been held prisoner for over 10 years.

Other neighbors didn't notice anything and one neighbor walked right by the house ignoring Berry's screams for help.

I was impressed that Ramsey was more concerned about Berry's situation than what his neighbor might think, or do to him, if he let her out. Ramsey broke down the locked screen door to help her and her baby daughter escape.

About two years ago I was at Walmart when a very young mother, crying with a crying baby in her arms and two more small children hanging on to her, was half-running across the parking lot. I started to go to her when a black car with heavily tinted windows screeched to a stop in front of her and a man got out, screaming threats and shaking his fists. Then he started trying to pull the baby out of her arms, yelling obscenities and "these kids are MINE -"

I literally did not think about it any further than, she's about 20, the babies are tiny, I'm 66 ... no contest - and waded in between them. It wasn't courage exactly - more a reflex. Before I could get more than cursed at, two police cruisers swept in and I left it to the professionals.

I still don't know what I would've done if it had gotten dicey.
