As an Englishman watching american football (which it isnt) i'm a little confused.

It appears to be a white man, directing a load of african/american men to chase what looks like a coconut?

American football is like a chess game with large beefy men as the pieces. It's all about the plays.

@SW-User American football grew out of rugby, where the ball is handled with the hands. Soccer (football) is the other branch of the game where the ball is handled with the feet.

That white man just appears to be in charge - the fatter, older white man on the sidelines is the real boss.

@SW-User Yes, the one with the clipboard and headset. He might get paid less than the smaller white man but trust me, he's the king.
