Seems like it’s a common pattern among some people to say, “I’m just joking” while being confronted.

People think they can get away with anything they says and when you confront them they are like, “relax, I’m just joking.”.

I had the opposite experience the other day here, I genuinely joked that somebody should shoot trump, I was told by 2 or 3 or maybe more people that I was 1. Threatening him, 2. Inciting hatred, 3. Encouraging people to shoot him🤔😱😂
