Automatic transmissions have improved over the years, so that you’re not getting a real performance advantage with a stick shift unless you’re a real stick shift expert.
Sticks were once the standard, and you’d have to pay extra to get an automatic....now the reverse is true, and most people don’t work a shift well enough to make it worthwhile to pay extra for one. Many cars aren’t even available with stick shifts these days as well, so your choices are much more limited if you insist on a stick shift/manual transmission.
