What do you feel about motivational speakers who are dealing with the same issues you are dealing with?

Do you feel comfortable around them? Do you ignore them? I know I feel uncomfotable around them and I ignore them. I guess I'm too attached to my depression..

I think they're successfully exploiting our conditions and more power to them, I guess. I can't fake inspiration like that though. It kills my soul.
@SwampFlower Exactly, makes sense.

@PiecingBabyFaceTogether if people can make a living off of others sympathy, they gotta eat. I think it can be damaging sometimes but that's a lot of typing to explain lol. It's not my style though.

With some exceptions of course, I feel they often come across as "it worked for me, therefore it must work for you" kinda people. Don't get me wrong, some have genuine tips and it is important to inspire hope, it is just that there are a few too many who - even with the best of intentions - do just as much harm as they do good because they treat everyone with their issues equally.
