Idk but I'm from South Jersey. About 2 hours from NYC.

@Phillyphan78 Friends and I went on a boat cruise a month ago, where we asked the Captain and his wife where they were from, and come to find out they were both born and raised in New Jersey, however they both did not have that New JOISY accent lol...so of course I had to ask them WHY they did not have THAT accent where they both grew up in New Jersey, and they both said it was because they grew up in NORTH Jersey which they said was much different than South Jersey....which I got, because I was raised in a different part of my state where my accent is much thicker than those raised in different areas of my state. :)

@Phillyphan78 As are those in my state depending on where you grew up in my state....my thick Boston accent AND me talking "wicked" fast ONLY comes out while I'm among my friends and family lol!!

@ZedsLeppelin2 oh the Boston accent! Very recognizable.

@Phillyphan78 Yes it is lol..my kids while they were little in school, quickly caught on that their mother's accent/voice was much different while I was talking to their teachers/doctors/coaches than it was when they were at home or at a family gathering lol!! Eh now that they're all older and NOT having a Boston accent like mine, they get a laugh/kick out of making fun of their mom's thick Boston accent whenever it comes out among family and friends.

@SW-User 😆 oh if you only knew the number of different accents in the States babe!

@SW-User Where one grows up the USA is indicative as to how we will talk/our accents...thus why there are so many different accents in the USA.
When my son was 12 yrs old playing baseball out of state against teams from all 50 states, he and his teammates from up North were roomed with a team from Texas....where the baseball team from Texas (having thick southern accents/drawls) thought their roommates from Massachusetts had a WEIRD accent, as did our boys from MA think their Texas roommates had a WEIRD accent lol :)
