I don't, although I am both black and liberal. I know some blacks who are moderate, and a few who are conservative.

@bijouxbroussard difference between moderate and liberal, would be . . . . .?
Brianthesnail · 56-60, M
Coming from socialist country, it does sound weird

Brianthesnail · 56-60, M
@bijouxbroussard in most places, liberal is synonym of centrist :)
bijouxbroussard · F
@Brianthesnail In the U.S., it's not. Moderate is.
Brianthesnail · 56-60, M
@bijouxbroussard I know. What does that say about USA, though ?
Moderate is radical left ? 😳
Moderate is radical left ? 😳

@Brianthesnail No, people here are under the impression that liberals are leftists. And not just in the U.S. There are Europeans here calling me a socialist because I'm a liberal.
Brianthesnail · 56-60, M
@bijouxbroussard Really ? In some countries, e.g. Australia or France, Liberal means right wing
bijouxbroussard · F
@Brianthesnail Yes, I've heard that, too. The U.S. is different.
Brianthesnail · 56-60, M
@bijouxbroussard well, come on over and breathe the sanity
Welcome to the rest of the world !

@Brianthesnail Like I said, Europeans have called me a "socialist", so I go by the politics in the country where I reside.
Brianthesnail · 56-60, M
[@real socialists call me a liberal with venom, like I was a Nazi
And I respect them for that
And I respect them for that
bijouxbroussard · F
@Brianthesnail Real socialists know that I’m not one, but they know I’m slightly left of center.
Brianthesnail · 56-60, M
@bijouxbroussard now there is another relative value. For me "slightly left of center" = socialist.
Hard left is Communist
Hard left is Communist
bijouxbroussard · F
@Brianthesnail Again, not in the U.S.
Brianthesnail · 56-60, M
@bijouxbroussard I know.
