Anyone that works or has worked in customer service?

How do you handle customers who are rude and resort to insults when you don't have the perfect answer/solution for them? I've worked in retail for five years and still sometimes struggle with how unpleasant some customers can be, and I find that I can become quite flustered and think about the situation for days afterwards...😓

I used to, I found that by being over the top happy and really helpful used to do the job.
By job I mean completely piss them off 😝

@Alex78 I usually try to do this, but I recently had an incident where for some reason I became flustered and almost forgot that I just needed to remain calm and act friendly. I so wish I could have been over the top happy towards this particular customer, but oh well - apparently they're going to write a formal complaint. 🙄😂

@maybesomeday in that case go see supervisor and and mention that you are feeling stressed out..... Work related stress. They usually run.
