It's true. I was in multimedia production, was doing social media before MySpace and Facebook, and have predicted many trends. If I cared about material success I could have stuck w it and sold the businesses for a small fortune. It's still something I'm interested in.

I'm a creative person and prefer success on my own terms. The material success will come, but it's not what motivates me. I never was v materialistic even when I was a capitalist.

I actually got into multimedia production as a musician bc I had no desire to get chewed up and spit out by the industry, and got into social media about 4 yrs ltr, 3 yrs prior to MySpace, and 4 prior to Facebook. It was a situation where, as a creative person, I was getting a bit bogged down in the business end of things. It did allow me to be creative on a diffent way, but it wasn't my first love.

Well, I won't lie, it's been a struggle, but I would have missed out on a great deal if I'd chosen a different path at any point in my life. I'm writing now and plan on doing film versions of my books, maybe even start a recording label. But writing's where my head's at now.

This was a great question, btw. There are lot of great answers here. Mine was kinda lame, though. I was just curious as to how you'd respond more than anything. It's all true though.
