Do you believe we are being listened to?
I always found it weird that when I brought up a specific item or an old episode of a show and an ad would soon appear for the same specific thing on social media.

I find it more likely that the social media site was able to pick up your demographics based on the people you follow, ascertain your mood from the content you were viewing at the moment, and match those two items to a TV show you'd likely be thinking about.
