Painkillers before tattoo?

Getting one on my bicep today
I wouldn't recommend it. They could thin the blood and make bleeding an issue.

@Pinkstarburst I'm not allowed to get one since I am on blood thinners :/
If you can’t handle the pain don’t get one.

Don't be such a pussy. Part of the experience of getting tattooed is the pain. If you can't handle it, don't get one.
JustDifferent · 22-25, F
@KittenfromHell if you have the option to not feel pain, you're retarded if you choose it. You think a 56-60 year old would know how to act.

@JustDifferent I'm a retired tattoo artist. 25 years tattooing people. I'm also old and been thru a lot. Life is hard and sometimes it hurts. You either deal with it and toughen up, or you hide from it and live in fear. You are choosing to do something that involves needles and an electric motor involved, no one is forcing you. First, oral pain killers work on the pain you are in, not the pain you will be in. Unless you're planning on using morphine, a pain killer isn't going to do shit. Topical pain killers can effect the way the ink goes into the skin, so the tattoo may have to be done twice. Yeah, I'm 56, I've been around and I learned stuff. Don't get a tattoo if you're a pussy. You'll just aggravate the artist who has to deal with you.

@KittenfromHell I never said I was a bitch to pain nor would it be a problem for the artist. Id rather not feel pain if it's an option. Being a tattoo artist doesn't give you an excuse to be a cunt about someone asking for advice. Maybe help them out instead being a critic. It's sad people like you exist

No. Just no.

Get the ink done and deal with it. If you’re scared of the pain, find a new hobby, honestly. Any respectable artist wouldn’t let you in the chair if you’re on something anyway.

Nah, don’t bother with them. Just eat before hand and have a stress ball in your other hand. Squeezing it will help distract your mind from the pain.

No..... how large a piece and the detail?
And it often depends on the artists level of pressure

Most reputable tattoo parlors will not let you get one with you imbibed.

It doesn’t hurt enough to bother with all that.
OzDiver · 61-69, M
No, you won't need painkillers.
