Therapy can't hurt; it can only help. But if you go, have a clear goal in mind and communicate that to your therapist from Day 1. Then make sure he/she is helping you to achieve your goal. Every 3 months, 6 months or 12 months, have a session where you evaluate your progress with the therapist and decide what parts of your therapy are working and not working. Sometimes you have to refocus your therapy.
