I found out overcharging your phone is a bad thing

Because it can mess with your battery's life time if you make it a habit. So why isn't there chargers out there to prevent this from happening ? I charge my phone at night so it stays plugged in all night obviously till I wake up and unplug it. Or maybe there is chargers like that already in the market ?

Now think that through.. Why would a company that puts a fixed battery into your phone have an interest in making the battery wear out sooner? I wonder. But you can simply buy a plug in timer and plug your charger int that if you want to save battery life.

How do you know it is bad? The phone controls the charging not the charger and it will stop when charged. At least that is how good modern smartphones work.

@ninalanyon The act of charging is itself bad on the battery.

This is the page I was reading. If you want to see it.. There's other websites that talk about.

@HannibalMontanimal The article is mostly warning against frequent fast charging not full charging. If you use a fast charger like the one that comes with my Moto g5+ it only takes 2 hours from flat and makes the phone very hot. If you do that every day then it probably does wear the battery faster. But in that case unplugging oncd charged won't help because the damage, if any, has already been done.
I’ve read this as well. I use my charger in the evening and unplug it when my device is at a full charge so it doesn’t stay plugged in all night.
