Thats funny my friend
I went for a wine tasting at a famous winery back in the day and got smashed
(I hate wine hang overs )
But camping for me is a chance to show off my survival skills
If everyone was smashed ,,,who would care ? LOL
No food ,no fire ,no water but who cares
We have this killer bottle of wine LOL

@Stereoguy I used to live on a tour bus ,new city ,but all the comforts of home .
I traveled with a huge tent for a while too ,as big as a big top
(setting a tent that size up is a job ,but its pretty cool ,especially in the winter when a heater causes condensation ,and it rains inside )
It was a traveling revival .I was a lead guitarist and lead vocals
not exactly a choir ,,we rocked contemporary gospel
I lived in my motor home for years ,I was looking after my Dad but still wanted to have my own space ,,so I rock living in small spaces
But when I camp ,its living off the land ,,no comforts of home
Its my way of preparing my family for the state we live in ,hard times that cold come upon us at any time ,we never know .
Hurricanes are a given ,living without power and running water is usually part of it
So my family can handle it
It always makes me smile when grown ass men can't build a fire
can't hunt or fish ,purify water
And my GIRLS ,have to show them how ,,,LOL
Camping with me is a refresher coarse of survival skills
My girls leave the hair dryers and make up at home
A sleeping bag ,,a tent ,,thats about the biggest luxury of home your gonna find ,,but during hurricane season we rock it ,,
Its a camp out ,,singing around a camp fire
Coffee ,food they prepared on fire wood they gathered ,the family singing
Its not the end of the world as some act like it is
But ,We are prepared for that too ,,as prepared as one can be that is

@Stereoguy Yea ,just last weekend my girls and grandkids went down the river in my grandsons boat ,fishing and camping ,tubing ,snorkeling .
They did it as a family thing ,like 20 people went
Fish and game had to check them out ,,Licences and such
All legal .they had a good time
I am 60 now ,bones ache ,I have roughed it enough
I save my skills for hurricane season ,I am the one smoking all the neighbors meat from their freezers so they don't loose it .they hook me up too for doing it .
Now my girls are teaching another generation ,,(and their men LOL)
Its cool when you see you're grandkids capable of fending for themselves too
Now its time for my kids to get the joy of spending that quality time with their kids too .
All of them grown ,but still loving that time ,doing things like that as family .
We are very close ..I think its things like that that keeps us that way .
