Why do some people believe they're an exception to the rule?
As in, the rules of reality (that life isn't fair, everyone faces rejection, etc)

@JupiterDreams P.S. And to be fair, sometimes it could be a person who has not suffered any loss before, as in death or heartache. They haven't learned how life works yet.
