Wordpress.com is a hosting service for your blog. Wordpress.org is for downloading the scripts and database so that you can host it on your own server.

@jomsim Does that mean I need to know the technical settings and all if I am going for wordpress.org??

@Greenmantree44 If you download the scripts and database from wordpress.org, you'll need to have a Linux web server running Apache and a MySQL database server. Ideally, you'd be a server admin, a PHP developer, and a MySQL database admin. If you're not those things and don't know someone to take on those roles for you, I'd strongly suggest not going down the .org route.

@jomsim guess it's not .org then.
I just want to start a free blog for writing...my own expressive stuff, but not like a diary. Like sharing myself with the world, but positive stuff.

@Greenmantree44 I'd definitely go .com. Either that or spend the next year learning how to admin the two servers, the PHP language, the SQL language, HTTP server config, cybersecurity, Linux itself, etc., etc.
