How come most adults don't believe in "sorry" anymore?

Even when I child apologized they don't respond.
My dad told me to back off when I kept pestering him about something and I would apologize over and over until he snaps and says, "I HEARD YOU! Stop saying sorry. I don't wanna hear it. I don't have to prespond."

Probably because sorry rarely actually changes anything.

@SW-User Yeah but they don't have to be so cold about it. It seems like adults are more difficult than kids are. My dad doesn't believe in sorry anymore.
