I'm a supporter of Scottish independence

And let me just point out that my support of independence doesn't mean I hate my neighbours

The Tories were mostly voted out in Scotland, how does that make us responsible for them being voted in in the rest of the UK? The Tories were voted in by mainly English, Welsh and NI voters. I feel for the people in the UK who didn't vote for them but it is not the fault of the Scottish voter

I voted for the SNP because they are the independence party. The Scottish guy you talked to would have been pro Union and Scottish Labour are predominantly a unionist party. When you compare the population of Scotland to that of England, Wales and NI combined it was they who voted in the the Tories, not us. It was they who failed to keep the Tories out.

The same press that would have you believe that Scottish voters are to blame for a Tory victory in the UK.

Scottish Labour let us down and lied to us, particularly during the referendum. So subsequently Scottish voters did what they thought was best for their country. Just like every other country and region in the UK. Or would you have me believe that voters in London, for instance, give a shit about Inverness? Oh, and now we must all be dragged out of the EU whether we voted for it or not and the majority of Scots did not vote for it. Sucks don't it?

I'm not suggesting they don't but it's not enough to make a difference sadly. I think you misunderstood what I meant as I was talking in general terms. People predominantly care about their local area and then the rest of the country. I have family and friends in England whom I care about. Doesn't mean I don't want what's best for my country. You've yet to explain to me exactly how Scottish voters let the Tories win? May I ask what newspapers you read also?
Egg01 · 56-60, F
The British media is very biased in favour of the Union. The Scottish Sunday Herald and the National being the only papers who openly support independence for instance. The rest are going to blame the SNP voter because of extreme political bias. Perhaps giving you the idea that Scottish voters are to blame for a Tory victory. The tabloids, in particular, do like to stir up trouble between people and set them against each other.

The Union may benefit some but it does not benefit everyone. I suggest you do some research in to it and not believe everything you hear in the biased media and read in tabloid newspapers.

Oh and before you make the subsidy argument

I kind of get the feeling you won't read it though...
