It almost feels like people are paid to use the block button

I mean, I don't come on here trying to annoy people or fishing for pictures, so I'm not going around being a nuisance trying to get blocked. I would rarely get blocked on EP, but it seems many people on here block just for the hell of it. I've already being blocked after I did not want to discuss someone's kids, after I didn't reply quick enough as I fell to sleep. Aren't we forgetting that the people on the other end are human beings with value and feelings?

But, why does it bother you? I do understand, believe me.
However, if strangers on the Internet have power over your emotions/feelings, then I would advise avoiding the Internet. I have to on days where I am feeling hypersensitive.

Oh, it doesn't hurt my feelings. I mean, why would it? I've often had heated discussions online, i've had nasty things said about me, it's part of a free society. I just basically seem to feel out of all the sites I've used, that a lot of people on here seem to be block happy.

@pianoplayingsteve: Ok, fair enough. You just said that the people being blocked had feelings. I just meant that being blocked, even in mid conversation, should't affect anyone's feelings. If it is annoying/bothersome, it should only be so for a second or two, and then gone. Of course, I have an extremely hard time with people over the Internet since I rely heavily on body language and being an empath in the real world.

@Myzery: I can understand that looking like my feelings were hurt. I meant more like, "you've gone onto the internet, you know you are going to meet ideas you may not agree with and that is the point of the internet with it's ability to so easily connect people, so why come onto the internet if you are so inclined to block off people?" :)

I wonder that too, but then I just figure that those individuals are looking for something different and whatever that is is none of my concern. 😊
