I'm not sure who does dumb sh*t like that anymore 🤔

BlueVeins · 22-25
It's a way of rebelling against a world they see as unjust.

SW-User
@BlueVeins Hmmm..
🤔 I think some of the art is pretty, this is just an eyesore. I have seen actual artists take a bland building and change it into a form of art forever bonded with the building.

SW-User
@Snowvixen yup good and bad

SW-User
for some more than others, maybe. for some, it's a total artistic expression. so maybe all art is a cry for attention.

SW-User
@SW-User yup...and I really do like Banksy...
It may not only be a cry for attention, it may be something that screams..."Look at my talents!" I've seen some amazing graffiti work in NYC.

SW-User
@soar2newhighs I bet!!

It can mean a lot of things .. defiance, opposition, alternative truth expressions .. I once took a unique tour in Berlin to study the underground art and such .. it's fun when you know what you are looking at .. apparently it's not lame most of the times and means something.. especially to the artist. The general public, being the general public .. remains illiterate and oblivious to the meaning .. ignorant of the fact that something of meaning or value to another human being was created in his/her vicinity .. it remains unappreciated..

@SW-User haha .. you are kind .. but I doubt it .. I don't have the capacity to enlighten you on this topic ;)

Backinblack · 46-50, M

SW-User
@Backinblack of course.. ugh
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
There are interesting ones.
"No one is honest. No one cares for the people. I´ll vote for Dr. Noone"
"No one is honest. No one cares for the people. I´ll vote for Dr. Noone"

SW-User
@CharlieZ me too 😄
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@SW-User Dr. Gilbert Ludovico Noone is not a so bad candidate!
nahright09 · 41-45, M
Was just in Athens, very political graf all over the city. I don't really care for the tags but there is some very strong political/creative/artistic work out there.

SW-User
@nahright09 Ooooh lucky you...Greece!!
nahright09 · 41-45, M
@SW-User it was incredible!

SW-User
@nahright09 Wowwwww! I bet!! pics please 😊
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
About like a cat spraying a door to mark his territory

SW-User
@cherokeepatti Yup pretty much haha
In the 70s & 80s, it was quite common in the NYC Transit system, the subways to be more specific, but it was also lethal, as many of the taggers got "tagged"(aka hit and killed) by the IND, IRT or BMT subway trains as they tagged cars in yards or while stopped at stations.

SW-User
@soar2newhighs wow...so not anymore?
No, not at the level it was back then, though it can still be seen.@SW-User
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
No. It has existed for millennia and there are many reasons behind it; political, aesthetic, memorial, recognition etc.

SW-User
@Starcrossed but also on public property
AllAboutLaffs · 80-89, M
I like graffitti walls ... can be very cool art forms ... unless it has gang markings ... then I know I'm standing in someone's territory ... 😳

SW-User
@AllAboutLaffs yeah I agree haha
Kowlick · 46-50, M
I like it makes walking through the city less boring

SW-User
@Kowlick maybe eh? Some of it for sure

SW-User
It is a form of expression

SW-User
@SW-User except it's on public property...

SW-User
@SW-User yup
Ishtar · 22-25, F
Somewhat. But it's entertaining to an extend

SW-User
@Ishtar some of it is artistic
No it’s art.

SW-User
@SkinWalker but it's on public property?
@SW-User Tell that to Banksy.

SW-User
@SkinWalker Ha!!!! True dat
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
Some of them make no sense at all, they're just letters that mean something to those who wrote them apparently (like wtf is DEMZO?). But I also see some consistent ones, like around my city there is someone who has written something that means "I am being tormented" with the biggest letters you could imagine! Who knows what this person was/is going through!

SW-User
@HannibalAteMeOut I know I can't figure out any of it....its like they have a language of their own...
IowaDeviant · 51-55, M
Not even cool graffiti. Lame
IowaDeviant · 51-55, M
You could always put sniffs poop after their name. @SW-User

SW-User
@IowaDeviant eh too much work. And its probably not their name I can never understand the words lol
IowaDeviant · 51-55, M
Lol@SW-User
DDonde · 31-35, M
Some of it is gang stuff.
Synyster · 51-55, M
Yeah, pretty stupid to deface city property.
Synyster · 51-55, M
@SW-User Don't see it so much here, especially on building and bridges. Seems they clean it up quickly.

SW-User
@Synyster some places get cleaned more than others depending on location
Synyster · 51-55, M
@SW-User Yeah, Toronto's a big city, lots to cover.

SW-User
How the hell does one up & willingly go to Wally world just to buy some paint & write some stupid shit? 🤷♀️
Too much effort for me.🙄
Too much effort for me.🙄

SW-User
