ok have you listened to an artist or musician before but you didn't really hear them?

Maybe there's a song you've heard before but you weren't into it at the time and then you hear it again and it's like WOAH. that just happened. joni mitchell, im talking to you

Joni Mitchell could have that affect even if I'm not that into her music... But thats merely from a style of music taste, and nothing about the words she accompanies her music to. There, she is a poet.

@lizisbizzy Wish I could find it but you probably like an interview I listened to her on CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp) where she was asked about her work in painting and in music. This will be a quick paraphrase, but she explained how the works, for her were very different, painting was calming and where she took space away, where writing was chaotic and places she didn't want to visit but had too.

@SW-User I never knew she painted, that's amazing.

@SW-User It's also interesting to think about. I always thought that the writing would be a place of peace for her but it's different for everybody I guess

@lizisbizzy I didn't either... I'm sure you can find some online if you look. I haven't, so can't talk about them but surely, even if they weren't any good, somewhere somehow you can find them just by virtue they will have been covered for how good her song writing was.

@lizisbizzy I find peace in photography... if I try to work in writing (not saying I produce anything good) feels very chaotic, encumbering feelings I don't always to feel again.

@SW-User I understand. It's hard to be in a place that exposes so much vulnerability, and maybe facing things within yourself.

@lizisbizzy Yes, something like that... It comes with exposing yourself to elements you once loved too which may now be distant. Photography for me is meditative and away from me having to try and write it out. I can't say but likely speaks something of what she meant.
