Will God punish me for telling me this lie?

My brother and his gf came today and they were going to visit my grandma and I didn't want to go so I told them I had a library book I was trying to finish reading and it was overdue and that I had renewed it once and had to turn it back so I was trying to finish it today. I lied because it was renewed earlier so I felt really bad about it. Will God punish me for this? There's something I've been praying for to happen, is he going to punish me by not letting it happen?

No your conscience will spend as much time with family as you can! The time they will pass will come too soon and you don't want to be left with regret!!! Mine died at 92 this year and I still wish I could spend more time with her and my other grabs parents! Don't squander the chance to ask about family history stories about your parents lived and theirs!!

God can't punish no one.. Its ones own guilt and remorse that punishes themselves..
