@EmptyGirl2001 don't worry about them

Usually when I want to be honest about something I know is going to sting, I try to soften it as much as I can. If you accuse her of being lazy and lying, the drawbridge will go up because those are moral judgements. Maybe she feels guilty about it already. If you make it clear that you're not judging her and want to help because you're worried, then the door will stay open and you can start the real conversation.

I think you have autism, not an insult. My siblings have Asperger's and sometimes they tend to get stuck at topics and be overly blunt.

I also can get that way.

Yes, it wasn't appropriate socially speaking. Also not healthy because it will bring her down further.

@EmptyGirl2001 I don't know that. It's just a guess from your posts over the months and our interaction in the past.

Sometimes you have to be more diplomatic and apply tact, being blunt can be more damaging than helpful in some situations.

@EmptyGirl2001 Then it is on her.

@NativeOregonian True. It does depend upon the circumstances.
Yes. I've actually been incarcerated over this.
When honesty causes one to be in legal trouble because it offends someone, somehow, some fucking way, that's when you know, that it's time to end that system of hate. Actually, it's past time, way past.

Yes... I told someone how I felt about certain things that hurt me and that back fired, I'm the bad guy now!

I've made more people angry by being honest than I have by lying to them.
Yes, it was the first proven case of human spontaneous combustion. 🔥

Aye truth “hurts” 🌼

Yes. My feeling about it was: too bad for them. They were acting like douchebags. I seem to attract liars. As soon as I catch them in a lie, they get the full on blunt attitude. I don't have the time or patience for that crap. That's not the basis for a good friendship IMO.

@SW-User Honesty should be the cornerstone of all relationships, otherwise they are not worth having.

I try not to hassle people about things like appearance to begin with. And if I already know that the person is raw and wounded from previous cruelty, I’ll try not to make their pain worse, because a real friend wouldn’t—in my opinion.
