How do you know if the person is selfish and not worth spending time with?

We are all selfish.

When we expect a person to be something they are not, to meet our demands, we are being selfish too.

We choose what selfishnesses suit us to spend time with.

It's very easy to expect too much, society tends to fill out heads with impossible standards about relationships...it neglects to take into account that everyone is different.

@Kuronekko: Exactly. Sometimes people do not see what is right in front of them, what is being told to them directly, and they end up expecting things perhaps because they think it is okay to do so. And when these are not met, they end up getting disappointed about it no realising this is down to them, not the other persons selfishness.

@faefairy: Yeah. :)

@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: Indeed, everyone loves and feels love in different ways. It's sad that so many relationships fail because they just don't hear each other...I am certainly guilty of the same.
SW-User
@Kuronekko: I am guilty of this too. It just happens because we get too emotional about what we desire.
SW-User
@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: It's something I have to constantly remind myself of, until it hopefully becomes habit.
SW-User
@Kuronekko: I am working on it too for myself. :)
SW-User
@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: well if you ever need someone to talk you down and remind you, I'd be glad to help :)
SW-User
@Kuronekko: Thank you. And likewise. :)
