Why do some people get hostile when they've asked a question but don't like the answer they wanted?

Why did they ask in the first place if they didn't want to hear differing points of view. Beats me. 馃

there are a good number who just want to hear people agree with them. strongly. if you point out there might be other explanations or something amiss in their outrage, you've joined the other side and you're trying to tear them down/you're as bad as hitler.

that being said, there's nearly as many reasonable ways to say 'I don't agree' as there are very unreasonable.

I think it's a culture of extremism that's being bred and encouraged.

@stound Yes there are and to be able to disagree in a polite and reasonable way will always be respected, by me at least. To resort to personal insults will not.
