So if something bad happened we should just think of all the other bad things that happen all the time?

I don't care how many other bad things happen daily, I don't send my kid to school so that he could be gunned down by stupid assholes who were allowed to have access to guns. It's as simple as that.

@MasterLee All of that's irrelevant. Obviously that's an issue but innocent kids trying to get education are gunned down. What exactly are you getting at?

It is a minor issue. No one wants to solve it. Put our efforts to major issues.

You want to stop school shootings? Arm teachers and administrators. Relax gun regulations.

@MasterLee Minor issue? How many shootings were there alone in 2018? Injuries? Fatalities? Arming teachers won't stop them from occurring, just slow the shooter down, though I do agree we should arm. This is a major issue.

About 100 a year die from sniffing glue to put it in perspective.

@MasterLee In early December 2018, 112 deaths and injuries were reported as a result of school shootings. That's not major enough for you? Innocent kids, trying to get an education, dead or injured while in class. How is that minor?

@JustDifferent no that is bloated but still the glue sniffing is higher. 7000 suicides just by veterans.

@MasterLee So because veterans are killing themselves school shootings are automatically a minor issue? Those kids were preparing for futures and got gunned down. That's a major issue.

@JustDifferent one reason. There are much bigger issues. As I said, if anyone really wanted to fix it they would repeal gun laws and arm teachers and students.

@MasterLee Yeah that's smart. Arm students. Theres been stabbings at a highschool 20 minutes from mine, imagine them with guns. Extensive background checks won't do anything. They could easily get a gun illegally. Just because there's bigger issues doesnt mean this isn't a big one as well.
