Someone told me they eat pigeon, is that safe?

I find that so nasty since pigeons have so many diseases! Why would anyone get a dirty city pigeon of the street and eat it???? This person has pigeon traps in his back yard yuckkk lol

I would think it would be okay if the bird is thoroughly cooked.
@PhoenixPhail but wild pigeons carry 26 different viruses!
@RadiantRuby I didn't know that. I can see how it could be risky, but still, I would think it's probably safe if it's cooked VERY thoroughly. The facilities which raise chickens are extremely dirty, and I know those birds carry diseases. I wouldn't eat ANY uncooked bird. And probably would never eat a pigeon unless I were starving.
@PhoenixPhail I agree, I'm thinking of becoming a vegetarian as soon as next week and this time I'm serious. My main reason is saving money though lol.... I plan on keeping the habit for a year. I only buy my meat from the local butcher, I'm very picky with my meat. So it's gonna be a fun challenge 😁
@RadiantRuby It will be interesting to see what effect it will have on your health and the way you feel. One of the things which convinced me to cut back, drastically, if not become a strict vegetarian, is the documentary, "What The Health." You can find it here:
