How much wood, would you chuck, if you could chuck wood?

I used to chuck two cords of western red cedar and alder before sunrise five days a week! On a bad day there would be cottonwood mixed in. That's a rip off. I hated my boss for that. There's a special place in hell for people that sell cottonwood as firewood.

@puck61 Yeah I agree...I saw flames coming out a roof chimney one time about a block from my apartment as I was driving home, I stopped at the duplex and told the tenant and he said “Yeah we got some funny firewood with cottonwood in it”....it was a wonder his roof didn’t catch on fire.
@cherokeepatti Hickory will melt your stove, but cottonwood will kill a household under the worst circumstances because it's nothing but sponge. We used to mix a little hickory in with red oak for a nice happy medium. Red oak stinks when you're cutting it, but it smells okay when it's burning. Hickory is the best wood on earth for staffs and handles though.
@cherokeepatti Don't you love it when people tell you stuff you already know as if it is some kind of 'new information'? Sorry about that! I got a little case of nostalgia............I was feeling kind of "Arkie"......

@puck61 I never tried to burn hickory in a stove, it is good for smoking meat though, my ex would cut and sell it sometimes to barbecue places.
