Say it to both of my sons (one is 22, the other is 19) every time I talk to them on the phone (both in college). Also to my father each time we talk.

I couldn't do it until I had started college. Embarrassing is a great word for the way I felt before then.

Yeah many of us go through that transition. I guess feeling free to be more expressive is part of us coming into our own.
I still won't tell many people. My daughters are really the only ones.
