Is it true that parents are NEVER ready for their kids to graduate or anything?

My dad was sad and was like, "No you can't start your period already! You're not my little girl anymore. I was 13.
He wasn't ready for us to graduate. I'm graduating next month and I'm going to be 18 in June. My grandma was like, "Would you kids stop getting older? You're KILLING US! DON'T."
One of aunts is devistated that her baby boy is going to high school with and she isn't too happy and she just got through her twin daughters graduating last year. She wanted them to "fail" and stay on high school.
Parents we get older and grow up. DEAL WITH IT! 😂🤣😂🤣
