Well using primates or old and new world monkeys would be a cop out, since they are our closest cousins.

@popmol the honey badger is a determined animal. Its aggressive and ruthless. It’s also very smart. It’s bravery can be an advantage or disadvantage, but I’m leaning more towards advantage
Bears are smart animals, and has potential for bipedalism. They just need an apex predator species for them to outsmart so that selective pressures can rewire their thinking.
Dolphins would take the longest to change (assuming you mean a creature to look like humans today), but I’m convinced their brains are going in the direction where our minds are.
