I just watched a 2018 McLaren sell for $295,000 at Barrett Jackson.

It does 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds and 0 to 120 in 7.8 seconds with a top speed of 212 mph.

@Stereoguy Okay. How about you would be afraid to leave it anyplace, because you KNOW its going to be keyed and have all the insignia ripped off. Or afraid to get out because you KNOW you are going to be mugged. Or you HAVE to put 98 octane in it the whole time or the bitch wont start. Or you need to adopt a team of mechanics to keep it on the road? Now you want to talk insurance? Or $1000 tyres?

@Stereoguy I know the lure of having a super boy toy is strong. But believe me. Renting one for a day or two will satisfy the lust and show up the down side.

@Stereoguy I suppose they are Okay in a straight line if you dont need to stop or go around a corner. I guess I am just too old for that now and as someone else noted, the speed limit is the same for all cars.

@Stereoguy A sexy beast I admit. But I can buy a lot of Merc or Audi for that.

@Stereoguy Big Saloon, 3 times the price of your Challenger. But built for luxury and performance. Low key look that oozes class. Love to own one. Wouldnt pay to maintain it.

@Stereoguy As a driving experience I expect it would be part to compete. But if the cost of the upkeep is a factor, you may be in trouble. Parts can be horrendous.

@Stereoguy How about a half way deal. Like a Lexus?

@Stereoguy Then, as long as the car is giving you the comfort and features you need, I would stick with what you know. Sure, there are "better" cars, by the numbers. But value is ultimately in the eye of the beholder.

@Stereoguy I hear you. I just replaces a Volvo that had given us a great ride, but was starting to have issues. Of course, we got little back for it. But we were ready to downsize as well. The new small SUV is right for size features and price.

@Stereoguy A year old Mitsubishi ASX. I have a good history with Mitsubishi. Reliable and cheap to run, if lacking in character. We only need two seats now. really.
