I once made it through a day of classes (3 lectures) without getting any sleep the previous night. I also had an out-of-class conversation activity with my foreign language teacher and a mental health appointment that day. This is still my strongest feat of sleepless perseverence. It's also made stronger by the fact that I had only slept for about a couple hours the night before the sleepless night, in addition to a few hours.

It was a 36-hour stint of awakeness overall, and I remained high-functioning to the end. I even went on a run at around the 30-hour mark.

@BlueVeins oh man that's crazy. Can't believe you remained high functioning to the end. . .I'd probably faint or something. I only stay awake all night if I have a test or exam the next day, even if I'm prepared for it. And then as soon as the test is over I basically pass out till God knows when.

@rickfreeman15 Yeah, I had a lot of help from some strong-ass tea. I did lose the ability to visually focus near the end, but I still count it as high-functioning because I could still walk, eat, speak, think and listen. I was studying that night for a test (and doing homework), but I may've shot myself in the foot with respect to the former lol.

@BlueVeins I'm pretty sure if you do that too often it could kill you. Some time last semester I lowkey went crazy. I think I was awake for close to 30 hours or so and I was busy all through, so when I finally went to sleep I felt like I collapsed. And then when I woke up my body was literally shaking and for some reason I was wandering around my dorm half naked and barefoot, and only came to my senses when my feet touched the wet bathroom floor. I wonder how many people saw me walking by like that😅. I honestly need to find a way to 'fix' my body and sleeping pattern when I graduate. Finishing my final exams in two weeks

@rickfreeman15 Hey, congrats on your imminent graduation! Best of luck, my dude. Not sleeping for long periods of time is definitely dangerous, if for no other reason because it increases your risk of accidents.
