Its paid for by the citizens of every country. In socialist countries you let the government take a slice first and then they ration your medical care.

@redredred yes ridiculous amount of money. Breaking bad wouldn't be an issue in UK cause he wouldn't have to pay
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@redredred Cuba seems to have an amazing medical care system for its people..perhaps the best in the world.
redredred · M
Sure he would. He pays for it in his taxes unless you have doctors and nurses working for nothing in abandoned medical facilities using drugs they make themselves.

Grow up, in this context "free" means someone else is paying@Foxeylady

The quality of the care is second rate. Why didnt Mick Jagger go to Havana for his heart surgery?@Entwistle
Entwistle · 56-60, M
He chose not to. He is extremely wealthy. He can choose where he goes to be treated. Doesn't mean Cuba is a worse place to get his op done.
Foxeylady · 61-69, F
Tories are treating doctors and nurses here horribly
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Foxeylady Tories are cunts. Always have been and always will be.
Foxeylady · 61-69, F
Yep
redredred · M
True, its not the worst. But its not good, It's simply plentiful, unlike milk, meat and fish in Cuba; those are rationed there too.@Entwistle
Entwistle · 56-60, M
Those things are rationed in the USA too if you can't afford them.
JP1119 · 36-40, M
@redredred
In socialist countries you let the government take a slice first and then they ration your care.
Lol! That’s soooo much worse than the US where the private insurance companies take a slice first and then ration your care, and you end up with shittier care for a higher price!!! Oh btw, who won the election last year for your insurance company CEO? Was it the candidate you voted for?
redredred · M
So are diamonds, your point?@Entwistle
Entwistle · 56-60, M
My point is everything is available in the usa as long as you can afford it. Being rationed a food means you get some..not being able to afford any means you get none. See?
JP1119 · 36-40, M
@redredred
So are diamonds, your point?
That’s completely different. Diamonds should be rationed. You don’t need diamonds to live or to meet your basic needs or to sustain a decent level of happiness. You do need food for those things. There’s enough food on this planet for every human being to eat three meals a day. Nobody should have to go hungry. Diamonds don’t meet your basic needs, (and they don’t even do a good job of making you happy, studies have shown) so only people who have some extra money to burn should be able to get them if they want them.
redredred · M
No, youre totally wrong and your critical error is key to this discussion. Rationed mean the government controls availability artificially. Market prices means the price is set by free people dealing freely with each other. Whether or not a given person can afford something is not the concern of the other tax payers. @Entwistle
Entwistle · 56-60, M
Would you rather have your food rationed or be able to afford none at all?
redredred · M
I work hard and can buy what I want. I shouldn't have to buy yours for you too.@Entwistle
redredred · M
Who put you in charge to decide what I need or want? Where do you get standing to make such decisions for anybody but you?

I hate fascists who try to decide for others whats important.@JP1119
Entwistle · 56-60, M
Just answer the question sunshine. Would you rather have your food rationed or be able to afford none at all?
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@redredred What makes you think you have to buy my food for me? We live on different continents.
JP1119 · 36-40, M
@redredred Lol, I honestly didn’t think that would be controversial. So are you trying to argue that you don’t need food to live? Or that you do need diamonds to live?
redredred · M
You totally missed the point i made earlier about demand economies vs command economies. It seems you prefer to be obtuse. I get to choose the coverage I want. Its not my fault if youve been unsuccessful in life and can't afford the things you need and want. Perhaps you can explain how one persons needs become another persons obligations.@JP1119 @JP1119
Entwistle · 56-60, M
Redredred you haven't answered my questions. Are you afraid of answering them or do you have no valid answers? I can ask you them again if you think you missed them.
JP1119 · 36-40, M
@redredred Well shit, I honestly just typed a reply that was probably as long as the last ten replies in this thread combined, I hit post, and it apparently posted. Then when I came back to this page like a minute later it was completely gone. Not a trace. I can’t figure what the hell was wrong with it, why it would have been removed. I am pissed!! But I am not taking the time to retype it. Screw that. Sorry you missed out. Go ahead and think you’re more right, holier, more responsible, more manly, whatever else than I am. I’m done here. I got robbed!!!
Carazaa · F
@redredred So that seems pretty selfish. See I don't want anyone to be without their basic needs, or homeless. Then you end up with a country full of greedy people and others who are homeless and begging for a living. What kind of society do you want? I want one that is caring for the needy. I just can't be happy in my beautiful house if someone else can't afford anything because they are mentally ill or have addictions. They are human too. I can't understand selfishness!
