My point is everything is available in the usa as long as you can afford it. Being rationed a food means you get some..not being able to afford any means you get none. See?

No, youre totally wrong and your critical error is key to this discussion. Rationed mean the government controls availability artificially. Market prices means the price is set by free people dealing freely with each other. Whether or not a given person can afford something is not the concern of the other tax payers. @Entwistle

@redredred So that seems pretty selfish. See I don't want anyone to be without their basic needs, or homeless. Then you end up with a country full of greedy people and others who are homeless and begging for a living. What kind of society do you want? I want one that is caring for the needy. I just can't be happy in my beautiful house if someone else can't afford anything because they are mentally ill or have addictions. They are human too. I can't understand selfishness!
