Do gossip-free people really exist?

I hate hearing coworkers talking about their so-called friends as soon as they leave the room.

I just hate when people talk about people period

Where I work they do not find it comfortable to listen to gossip or bitching!
I learnt that before Christmas I spoke about someone at work as I felt they were annoying and who I spoke to went and told my boss what I said!
So there's none of it where I work.
I've never felt so mortified and so I probably have should.

@Dusty101 wow sounds like a decent place to work!

@SW-User I wasn't the decent one though!
But not a word has been said since from me! 🙄

@Dusty101 I used to talk about books I’d read or my birds, and the gossips didn’t like that. There were 3 well known to spread stuff like they were the Town Crier making announcements. That’s when I would go into my bird-mode bragging on everything my parakeets said or did. They’d turn around and leave if they could get some dirt on someone.

@Dusty101 well I wasn't going to say that 😄😉 It's a lovely practice to not speak ill of others it changes the work environment

@cherokeepatti 🤗 Well I'd never spoke about stuff like that.. I stupidly trusted someone and told them how another kept stealing conversations when I was talking to the kids parents.
Like completely taking over the conversation I was having.
Anyway it's sorted now. 😅🤗

@Dusty101 People play games trying to get other people to talk. Two of my brother-in-laws had wives that were cousins. They would hang out together but one would drive up and say something like she was mad at the other one. They were playing a game to see if anyone would say something about the other one. My sister-in-law caught on real quick to what they were doing and she’d pipe up and say something critical on purpose. The next time the other one would come over she’d sit and pout and act liked a puffed up dead toad....so my sister-in-law knew they were playing games.

@cherokeepatti OK... That's a little twisted...
At least you knew what they were at!
I wouldn't be able to handle that! 😳

@Dusty101 I know and the good thing was I saw really young co-workers do the exact same thing and pointed it out to my friend and told her what they were up to.

@cherokeepatti I find that behaviour deeply revolting, they need hobbies...
