You can't really. Because the hurt is already there. If you hurt someone and you feel sorry for their pain then you see their pain and nothing can really fix it especially an apology. You have to let them feel through that pain before they can except an apology from you. That takes time.
It may not happen in your time, because an apology only comes after your regret, but forgiveness for your apology comes to you in their time.

@MamaButterfly Sometimes a sincere apology can help though, unless they're too mad at you to listen.
