Wow this is a day for a flood of memories
I was just telling another friend about remembering JFK being shot and his funeral ,Dr Kings million man march ,and Senator Kennedy being killed and Dr King
My Dad was on a support team that helped put men on the moon ,not just once (now called a hoax )no way we could have food Russia with a hoax ,,thats why we left a flag there ,now lots of other things like the rover ,landing module
I have a memory that won't quit
If my mind is interested ,,its in there and there is no getting it out
The order of events ,sometimes I need to be reminded of the dates to keep events in proper order
but I don't forget the details

My brother always said it was hell living with a living tape recorder ,,,he was unable to alter facts and spin his stories ,rewrite history

Ha ha it must be useful to remember facts like that. @rckt148

@pennynoodles its a blessing and a curse
I can't forget bad events that personally effected me either
It was real useful in my job in the service ,recreating accidents and remembering what I seen for reports if they ended up in court ,,just refresher my memory and I could tell you in great detail what I saw ,
But all the death I dealt with was hard to live with for a while ,,,you learn to pay attentions to what you allow yourself to see and hear ,when dealing with traumatic things you kind of go on auto pilot and let your experience and training take over ,,kind of distance yourself that your actually there (hard to explain )Doctors and Nurses are good at it ,,
,if I let it in ,,its not getting out ,
at my age ,,my memory is still very much in tact
Wish I didn't know some of the things I'll never forget

But it does have its advantages too
