It unfortunately happened when I was a kid. They were never sure if the kid was abducted, ran away or was just simply in an accident.

@DonotInboxMe The one thing I find just just as bad, which happened in the next town over, was everyone in the family dying except one son. He was at a sleep over and there were 8 people in the family.
