Is it impolite to not respond to the answers you get to questions on here?

A friend of mine on here told me it’s impolite not to respond but I’m not really sure.

Eh. If youre in the middle of a conversation in the comments with someone and you dont respond suddenly, maybe. But life happens, so literally anything could be going on
