Until you've actually had to outa necessity it's hard to know to a certainty. There are variables. Weather, availability of food, predatory foes and whether alone or not and my armaments. Even when you are trained well and have experience a large bear or cat can get the upper hand if you get caught staying too still in the wild.
Predators consider other non active predators as quarry. And watering and fishing and forage supremacy can be hard to establish in the wild against formidable predators without a loaded rifle.
