I for one want to praise and respect our Yogurt overlord. I don't want to be left behind by the yogurt.

loved many of them but one in particular was fake deep for me

@texasdaddydom The one about the guy on a space station light years off course but turns out is in a no d control simulation by a space spider caught in its web was the only slightly weak one IMHO.

@MethDozer really you liked blue? I do not want to post spoilers but it just seemed to be trying too hard to be deep and meta
MethDozer · M
@texasdaddydom It was decent. I get where you are coming from but I liked how it kinda tied back to the three robots story in a way.

Plus I see society going to that point where humans forget how to recognize humans from machines . That was the real comment of the piece for me. That and how immortality makes existence futile.

@MethDozer*possible spoiler alert* he did not through off his immortal coil, just became more basic as though his original purpose was more "pure" and if you boil it down stupid and productive = happy is not a philosophy I want to promote.

@texasdaddydom That wasn't really what it was about or why he was saying. You really missed the mark. He was shedding his consciousness. He was going back to where he came from. He reached Nirvana was the basic premise. Like he said, "he's going home"..
texasdaddydom · 51-55, M
@MethDozer that what he said yes I got that BUT what did he actually do. He shed all of his "improvements" and went back to being a pool scrubber...look if he winked out of this plane of existence I could buy your take but he literally dumbed down and start scrubbing that is not my idea of nirvana. look maybe the author spoke to you and you bought it, I will concede that to me the story did not do a good job of selling it. I saw no sign of enlightenment of higher purpose of being just a message of accepting your lot give up drive and be happy stupid and productive. I am not saying that was what was intended I am saying that is what it SHOWED. Not sure you can argue that, that is literally what happened not interpreting anything here.

@MethDozer lol cause I disagree with you, you result to insulting me personally
MethDozer · M
@texasdaddydom oh lighten up ffs. You talk all big balls but get butthurt over that?
texasdaddydom · 51-55, M
@MethDozer um no I laughed that seems pretty light to me. can you use your words to tell me what I said that was actually wrong? did he not do exactly as I stated twice now?
MethDozer · M
@texasdaddydom oh okay cool..

Just such a surface gleaning and I think that's an overly nihilistic take that refuses to take in the different contexts that were in it. It wasn't my favorite either but that distillation misses a lot of the character of the short. Jmho
