Agree, we couldn’t even have a transistor radio in class unless someone had an earphone and wired it up their sleeve and hid the earpiece with their hair.

A little red radio with a 9 volt battery that had lousy sound and was made in Japan.

@hippyjoe1955 did you sneak one into class?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti No. I had one but I enjoyed the school work much more than the scratchy sound the radio made. We were a long way from the radio station so we didn't get very good reception on the transistor radio.

@hippyjoe1955 Mine was blue. 😁

@hippyjoe1955 I had to hold the radio just right to pick up my favorite station...wasn’t easy when walking down the country roads with my friend like we did almost every evening in the summer.

@SW-User ours was silver with a black leatherish case.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@cherokeepatti I don't think we had any colour choice. Everyone's radio was red.

@cherokeepatti I did too. I loved it anyway.

@hippyjoe1955 mine was blue I tell you.

@SW-User Ha ha I don't doubt you for a second. I suspect that here in Canada we may have had more restrictions on what could be imported from Japan.
