@BluesManGroup You mean in terms of the current social media engineering? Or something else?
BluesManGroup · 100+, M
@TheLoveAge I believe we have become slaves to technology including social media to where our brains are not afforded awake "calm" time. the constant interaction with technology is over stimulating and when a brain is bombarded with over stimulation it rewires the brain to behave and process information that can build less than healthy ability to function normally. This leaves the unprepared individual to fend for themselves again often unprepared to think and behave normally and when this over stimulation is unchecked mental issues will develop and this person is again often left to deal with their issues on their own. Self medicating is a common result as is ever increasing mental and emotional disfunction. Turn off the technology and give your gray matter a much needed rest.

I know this isn't an answer, but it bothers me just how many people think mental illness doesn't exist.

@GlitterBug well, from my experience when I open up to others about my child abuse and mental illness they always never take the abuse seriously and they think because I can act normal that I am not very ill they are ignorant and think "it's a white thing"
GlitterBug · 22-25, F
Very ignorant of them. I’m sorry you’ve had that experience. I’m not sure I’ve ever heard mental illness called ‘a white thing’ before.

@GlitterBug I am finally getting the help I need so I don't worry about those type of people too much
DNA being in the top five most unstable things in all of existence.

That answers A, but answering B, that's definitely in the realm of creative philosophical brainstorming, something that I definitely am in no mood to even attempt to delve into, not after the BS I had been through the past fourteen damn hours...lolz

While brain is the hardware, mind is the software that sits in the brain and drives it, like a driver sitting in a car.

There can be faults in the car or the driver..

@in10RjFox I think this is the best answer because anyone whose studied the brain knows it's just like a computer. If you damage the frontal lobe for instance, can give you temperamental issues. There was this one guy who even though I don't know his true character so he could have been like that before but from what I know the court wouldn't let him have his kid. The court's reason was because he damaged his brain so now he has anger issues occasionally so he couldn't have his child except under supervision.

@SatanBurger some drivers are good where they supersede their defect in the car by driving smartly and by conducting themselves well..
It’s literally just from parts of your brain not working properly. That’s like asking, “what’s the cause of a broken foot?”
Mine comes from years of abuse and self destruction.

There's no underlying meaning. Sometimes it runs in the family, sometimes it's trauma, sometimes it's other events, others you were born with. To ask the cause of mental illness is assuming it's all one type of disorder.

From my knowledge either genetics or truama
